Description
Main application areas:
A:Glass manufacturing
Boron oxide can dissolve many alkaline metal oxides in the molten state to produce glassy borates and metaborates with characteristic colors,
which are used to produce elemental boron and fine boron compounds.
In addition, it can also be combined with a variety of oxides to make boron glass with characteristic colors, optical glass, heat-resistant glass,
instrument glass and glass fibers, light protection materials, etc. .
B:Chemical synthesis
Boron oxide is used as an acid catalyst in organic synthesis, participating in a variety of chemical reactions.
In addition, it can be used as a fire-resistant and flame retardant additive for paints and as a desiccant.
C:Material Preparation
In metallurgical industry, boron oxide is used in the production of alloy steel and high-energy fuels; in ceramic manufacturing,
it is used in the production of high-grade ceramic glazes; in the machinery industry, it is used as a boron dissolving agent for chemical heat treatment;
and in semiconductor materials, it is used as a dopant to improve the electrical properties of the materials.
D:High-purity applications
high-purity boron oxide (≥99.999%) is used as a coolant in the nuclear industry,
and it is widely used as a high-purity reagent and a raw material for the production of a variety of high-purity borates in emerging technologies and the nuclear industry.
